Typically, three kinds of online Rummy games are popular in India. They are Pool Rummy, Deals Rummy and Points Rummy, each of which is uniquely designed and therefore interesting to play. We will now look into detail as to how Pool Rummy, is probably the lengthiest of them all, and is played in RummyCircle in addition to its features.
About Pool Rummy
Pool Rummy was first introduced in RummyCircle at least four years ago and immediately the game has become a darling for most of the Rummy aspirants. This Rummy can be played with 2 to 6 players using two or more packs of 53 cards each (including a printed joker in each pack). The game of Pool Rummy is further categorised as 101 Rummy and 201 Rummy. 101 and 201 are nothing but the elimination points fixed for each of the two Rummy games. The game gets started with a fixed entry fee paid by each player. A winner of every deal will get 0 points which you get by a valid show, as against the others who get their scores accumulated every deal. A valid show in a Pool Rummy should have at least two sequences one of which needs to be pure life.
Point system in Pool Rummy
The objective of the game is whenever a player accumulates points up to or more than 101 or 201 (based on the Pool Rummy) that he/she chooses to play, he gets eliminated. For example, if a player playing 101 Pool Rummy gets 90 points in a deal and goes on to fetch another 20 points in the next, he gets eliminated as his total score after two deals touches 110 which is clearly more than 101 points. While the drop on the first move leaves you with 20 points in 101 Rummy the same leaves you with 25 points in 201 Rummy. Again, a drop in the middle gets you 40 points in 101 Rummy whereas the same gets you 50 points in 201 Rummy. The winning value in Pool Rummy is calculated thus:
Entry fee x (no. of players on the table) – RummyCircle fees.
Since this game goes on till all the players get 101 or 201 points and thus eliminated, it is also known to be the longest Rummy in terms of duration.
Unique features in Pool Rummy
In this form of Rummy there is an added feature called an “Auto Drop” button which enables a player to drop anytime during the game. A player who thus gets dropped for all subsequent deals on first drop gets the points as detailed above in this article. Same way, by clicking an option called “I’ m Back” he can re-join the table if he chooses to do so. Once he re-joins, the points which he accumulated when he was dropped will be added to his score. There is an option called “split” which enables the players to split the prize money should they want to. You can learn how to play rummy by reading points rummy rules at RummyCircle.com.
